About Us

  • Dunbar Amateur Swimming Club has been running since the earlier part of last century.
  • From the cold beginnings in Dunbar Outdoor Pool, DASC now swim in the warmth of Dunbar Leisure Pool. We have approximately 130 members and have regular intakes for new members.
  • The aims of DASC are to coach and promote swimming in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere to children aged between 6 & 18. We occasionally run intra-club competitions and compete on a friendly basis with other local swimming clubs.
  • We offer fun swims, life saving and water polo as light relief from training.
  • Our coaching staff, lifeguards and committee are all unpaid volunteers who give up their own time to ensure the club runs smoothly.
  • We are not affiliated to the Scottish Amateur Swimming Association (SASA) and do not take part in any major competitions.  If you would like to swim with a competitive swimming club, the nearest one is in Haddington (http://www.swimhaddington.co.uk/).

Stay fit, stay healthy, stay safe, stay indoors or in the garden and have some fun.If you’re stuck inside and have the space use chalk or tape to create your own exercise circuits.

Fab fun for everyone.

Use low tack tape and check it doesn’t damage your flooring first.

We’ve been inspired by the generosity of a club member!

Any club membership fees that continue during the coronavirus outbreak will be given in full to ‘East Lothian Young Carers’, our nominated charity for our sponsored swim. This will boost much-needed funds for them.

This guy is awesome....if you’re looking to keep up your fitness over the next few weeks follow him!

As you all know exercise is not only good for your physical health but your mental health too.

Keeping physically active will help your swim skills when we eventually get back in the pool.

If your parents are home you could get them to join you in a family work out.

📢 CLUB UPDATE 📢

Following our club committee meeting tonight I’d like to update you on a few things:

You can suspend your monthly club membership fees with immediate effect. We know that many of you will be anxious about your personal finances and you can rest assured that your child/ren will continue as members of the club until the club resumes. Please note that as these are standing order payments the onus is on you to cancel and we will not be able to refund any payments.

Our sponsored swim and club championship events will be postponed until further notice.

Anyone who won a trophy at last year’s championships should hold on to these for now. Keep them sparkling ✨

We hope it won’t be long and we’ll all be back in the pool keeping fit and enjoying swimming. Until then...stay safe, stay fit and stay healthy.
