About Us

  • Dunbar Amateur Swimming Club has been running since the earlier part of last century.
  • From the cold beginnings in Dunbar Outdoor Pool, DASC now swim in the warmth of Dunbar Leisure Pool. We have approximately 130 members and have regular intakes for new members.
  • The aims of DASC are to coach and promote swimming in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere to children aged between 6 & 18. We occasionally run intra-club competitions and compete on a friendly basis with other local swimming clubs.
  • We offer fun swims, life saving and water polo as light relief from training.
  • Our coaching staff, lifeguards and committee are all unpaid volunteers who give up their own time to ensure the club runs smoothly.
  • We are not affiliated to the Scottish Amateur Swimming Association (SASA) and do not take part in any major competitions.  If you would like to swim with a competitive swimming club, the nearest one is in Haddington (http://www.swimhaddington.co.uk/).

Dunbar Dolphins News Hub

We were invited along to the Dunbar Amateur Swim Club Ceilidh on Friday night where the awesome Dunbar Dolphins presented The Wave Project Scotland with a cheque for £2,264.80! This was collected at their annual sponsored swim and we were lucky that their swimmers chose our charity ! We went along to their event in May and it was amazing to watch them swim their lengths with some members reaching 200!
Thank you so much DASC and it was great to be dancing with you on Friday too!

Great photos 😀

Thanks to everyone who came long to last night's ceilidh - hope you all had a fun-filled night. Special thanks go to:

Jack Mulroy for piping in our guests,
Carly Blain and her band for getting everyone up dancing and 'giein it laldie',
Coach Craig for organising all the trophies and medals, ably assisted by the wonderful Karen Leitch,
Archie Spinner, our tech guru who ensured everything worked smoothly,
Hannah Lorimer, our cheeky compere who kept us entertained,
Scott Maxwell, for taking brilliant photos of the night - check out our earlier post to see these.
Dynamo the Dolphin, who won us over with his charm and survived out of the water for a remarkably long time!
All the coaches, for taking a soaking purely in the name of fun!
Nadia and Fiona for organising all the amazing raffle prizes from the many generous local businesses.
Everyone who helped with setting up and clearing up...
...and to all of you who came long to applaud the competition winners, dance your socks off and make the night so memorable and fun-filled.

Hope you have a great summer and we look forward to seeing you back in the pool in August 😃
