Sponsored Swim

Every year, the club holds a sponsored swim. This not only gives us a chance to raise money for the club and a local charity, but just as importantly it allows the swimmers to achieve something they can be proud of. They are always amazed at how far they can swim, as are the people who sponsor them.

All swimmers will receive a certificate and badge for the distance they have managed to cover. The coaches will be on hand to ensure everyone has a fun time and achieves their potential.

The money we raise will go towards a charity of the club’s choice.  This year’s charity, chosen by our members, is the Wave Project.

As well as donating through the club, using cash or cheques, you may also donate through our Justgiving page.

Some rules:

  1. Prior to starting distance swim – make sure you have been to the toilet, if you get out of the pool, you cannot get back in!
  2. Swimmers are not allowed to place their feet on the bottom of the pool during swim.
  3. Swimmers are not allowed to stop at either end of the pool for a rest.
  4. You can change stroke at any time.
  5. If you intend to swim a lot of lengths, (more than 50 lengths) you should be at the pool to start your sponsored swim during 1st or 2nd This will allow sufficient time for you to complete your sponsored swim in good time.
  6. You may swim on both days, however, only one of the swims will count.
  7. Parent volunteers will be needed to help count lengths and encourage the swimmers.
  8. All money and sponsor forms should be handed into the desk, or donated through the Justgiving page.
  9. Have fun!

A massive well done to Lisa Lumby.

Lisa has just completed her level 1 coaching qualification and will now be a regular on poolside.

Welcome to the coaching team Lisa.🙌

Fun Fact! Lisa was a member of DASC as a youngster, look out for her name on some of the trophies next week at the Ceilidh 🏆

Welcome onboard! Great to have you on the team 😃

Woo hoo Lisa!

Go Lisa! X

Yeah Lisa!!

The heats are finished and what a competition it has been......we are looking forward to the finals on Monday evening.

All finalists will receive an email by end of the week inviting them to race on Monday evening.

We would just like to thank our swimmers, parents, families and friends for their help over the last two weeks. It takes a team to make these big events successful.

It has been another amazing year for our wee club and it’s great to see our swimmers using all the skills they have gained to have fun and compete with their friends.

Normal swimming sessions are on this Thursday and Sunday and I did hear Craig say that their might be some fun involved!

Great pictures!

Due to lack of confirmed numbers we have decided not to take part in the civic week parade this Saturday.

Do not fear though as Dynamo the Dolphin 🐬 will make a special appearance at our Club Championship Ceilidh on 21June 😁

Aw, thats a shame - I didnt know we were meant to confirm, was just planning to come along!

It’s the end of #volunteerweek and we thought we would share with you some of our young volunteers.

They volunteer on poolside as lifeguards, junior coaches or Duke of Edinburgh Volunteers.

As a club we believe we should give our members the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, provide peer support and gain qualifications for employment and contribute to the wider community.

A big thank you to Malcolm, Eve, Rebecca, Tommy, Finlay and William. 🙌👏
